MD temperature regime

Hey,

I'm having a little trouble with my temperature regime... during the day the temperature (on the heated en) crawls up to about 28 or 29 and drops to around 20 (maybe lower..) at night time... first off is this not good?? the temps take a while to reach 28 in the morning (peaks from about 11-4)...
second how rapidly should they drop.... should it be more gradual? and lastly... any ways I can improve? (a few examples of regimes would be much appreciated) my cage is 120cmX60X70 and i have a 100w ceramic heater hooked up to a thermostat set at 30 on the heated end... also i have tried putting another 60w ceramic heater as well as the 100w....but the whole cage heats up to 29-32....

thanks in advance

Hi there
The temps are ok especially if you are cooling over winter.....as long as the heat under the ceramic is around 29-30 and the other end of the enclosure is around 25 or lower then thats fine. The snake will tell you if its unhappy.

Does it sit under the heat all day? or is at the cool end all day? It should be sitting under the heat to heat up then will retreat onto a branch or in its hide box until it needs to come out and sit under the heat again.
