Moooses Day Off :) (Dial-up Warning)

Hi Folks, went to the Zoo today and again.....got stuck in the Rep House hehehe

I was testing out the new Camera and trying to get the flash from bouncing off the glass, so bare with me I had what would have been some awesome shots had I been more familiar with the camera Oh well Hope you enjoy em My Fav shot was the Gila Monster having a yawn lol....and I'm in love with the Horned Vipers! Oh they are just so horny looking! hehe

Order of Shots: Juvi Salties, Beauty Snake, Eyelash Viper, Cobra, Gila Monster, Horned Viper, Green Tree Python, Hognose, Fijian Iguana.

I got the poison arrow frog Does he count??

I need to read through the book that came with the camera - damn it!! I hate reading instructions lol

im guessing you shot all the pics threw glass moosey you did a really good job avoiding the glare

Great shots Moose. Love those poison dart frogs. Apparently they lose their poison once in captivity. Something about not eating toxic ants or something.

Yeah I did lol I was having a hell of a time trying to angle the camera to deflect the flash hehe I was trying without the flash, and in some instances would have prefered not using one (especially in the instance of the horned vipers, who were both coming up to the glass and checking me out ) but the damned camera would not focus!!! Grrr

That is also very fascinating Jules. I wonder whether that really is the case with the dart frogs? I'll have to go looking now

How can they lose toxidity in captivity? just curious, is it only produced under duress? if so surely they could produce it if stressed/threatened in captivity??? please enlighten me

These were taken in January. As you can see I had reflection problems with the wee Coroboree frog but the Chondro pic turned out well.
