Multiquip v Kimani

Does anyone use either of these incubators? If so, how good are they? Are there any other brands anyone thinks I should take a look at?

Cheers,
Chanty79

I haven't heard of those brands before but I'm using a Hovabator at the moment and it seems to be doing the job well. They aren't exactly huge, I have managed to fit six chinese food containers into mine (enough to hold approx 3 clutches of vitticeps eggs) but they do hold a pretty steady temperature. The viewing window is handy too. I've also got a bar fridge incubator, as the Hovabator isn't going to be big enough to get me through the season.

I looked into getting a multiquip, they come in bigger sizes but they are pretty pricey - thats seems to be the only downfall.
The larger kimani looks pretty good too, its cheaper than a multiquip of the same size but they are in WA so freight might be a bit. All comes down to what size you want and how much you want to pay. They look more acurate than a home-made job but home-made is much cheaper.

I have a Kimani and another commercial unit but still use my old fridge incubator as a preference. The commercial ones are just too damn small for practical use.

The trick is to find an experienced incubator man who has the time to build you an incubator from an old fridge - I know plenty of them but none has any spare time
Good Luck

i bought a secondhand Multiquip E1 chook incubator on this site last year and I took it the factory to be converted into a specialist reptile incubator last week.
I am due to pick it up next week so i will tell you how it goes.

When i was in their showroom I saw a full-on reptile incubator that would take 20 clutches easily. It looked the size of two tuckerbox freezers put together.

Buy Australian is my tip and Multiquip have a great name.

Happy Hatching

I used to breed Emus and had many large incubators.. Multiquip is an excellent incubator. I had 8 very large ones, and wish I had kept a couple now.....

I use lights in the bottom and a 25 watt heat cord up the top, it's a fairly big fridge, also twin fans.
