Preferably with a little hide on either end. |

It sounds a little peeved, but fair enough considering the situation. Hope it didn't freak you out too much seeing it rear up at you. Goodluck in your first handling session, let us know how you go.

I'm sure your new addition will do real well. Keep asking questions that's what the forum is about. What sort & size enclosure do you have her/him in? |

I personally think you have the temp spot on for a snake that needs to settle in. I am some what a self acclaimed pro on Diamond as they are my fav. snake and I have read almost everything published on these guys. For a hatchling Daimond a small chinese food dish half full of water is Perfect. Warm end at 30 and cool end at say 25 or lower is sooooooooooo good. Make sure snakey has a small hide, say for a hatchling from this year well a tissue box is too big, so try and find a cardboard box half that size and cut a hole about the size of a 20 cent piece for the snake to enter into.Anything up to an 2 foot tank for a new hatchling Diamond but PLEASE make sure there are plenty of branches and hides(as Fuscy found out with his waters) but this will be good if there are no big open spaces that will scare the snake into thinking a big Eagle will come and eat it if it wanders out to far.
Please, I don't claim to be a Know it all, but I have come across sooooooooooo many problems you guys ask about, and I always seem to resolve them myself, with thanks to your reassurance.
