Actually he is only 8 months old so he will be in his click clack for a few months yet, which will give me plenty of time to get the decorating done. I will try and move him in when he is around a year old and see how he goes?

It will have plenty of hides so i cant see it being to much of a problem.

I think ill let the click clack just sit on its own for a while so that i can test how the humidity, temps, etc hold up in the new enclosure. Then i will decorate.

i was think about turning half of the bottom area into a massive hide with a separate water bowl so than i can put him in the enclosure a bit earlier, then he can decide when he wants to come out and explore.

Ahh good, i wasn't sure if that idea would work or weather they would still be stressed? i will probably just turn my click clack upside down, cut a whole in it and give it the fake rock treatment so it looks good it the enclosure, then when he wants to explore he will have something to sit/climb on.

thanks...beardies hey im not too sure about the 4 legged herps lol but i recon the enclosures that are taller than wide look great as you can place a big branch inside from top to bottom with different basking sites. and they love to climb so thats a bonus. good luck.

Cupboard enclosure

Hi mate, it looks great and the best part is it didn't cost a weeks wage like other enclosures do that size. Mate I have to agree with Trouser snake though regarding the possible negatives of chicken wire. There doesn't have to be any sharp edges at all, some snake, (not all) spend a lot of their time rubbing their noses against the confines of their enclosure. It wont take long for the wire to wear through the scales on your pythons nose. I had a glass enclosure with a wire mesh lid, (no sharp edges at all) and over a week or two my coastal had worn her scales down to the soft flesh underneath. This led to infections, which led to a vet visit and anti-biotics, and the final outcome was my snake's nose was never the same again. Who knows why they do it but some snakes will rub and rub and rub. I had a couple of blue tongues who did the same thing and that was against glass!

Have you thought about a perspex, off cuts are pretty cheap and less abrasive.

Good luck mate, make sure you put a pic of the final product up!

Cheers Davo
