He looks great .
You don't see the Imbricata's so much on the site ---is there as much variation on them as Carpets from the east coast ?

Any of you W A folks able to answer my question about pattern & colour variations on the imbricata ?
I've seen a pic of one that almost looked like an African Rock Python .

Hills and Coastal locale, Hills are a much more browny colour, Coastal would be the WPython's one. Almost black with white patterning with a usually very dark tail/end half as adults. (Hope i havnt got the two mixed up)

John Rogerson is a TOP bloke and a very good breeder of imbricata - I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for this subspecies.

As far as variation within these snakes, they come from a very wide variety of habitats, basically covering the whole SW corner from north of Geraldton to the east of Esperance and well beyond, so the variation reflects that range. They are roughly divided (around the Perth region) into coastal and hills morphs - coastal SW carpets can be very similar to eastern Australian coastals in colour and pattern, but the "hills morph" is a far more neutral colour, muted greys and browns, not dissimilar to MDs in some regards. Within those 2 forms there is further wide variation.

I believe JR has and breeds both forms.

Jamie.

Gorgeous pythons. As they are a not-so-popular breed they are one on my "want-to-breed" list. They are a gorgeous snake. One of my friends has one, she is a pretty snake and tempermanent as good as our Port Macs. Wouldn't know how to bite, she just a gentle giant.
