My new triple enclosure

Hey there,

I recently finished my new enclosure as per photos attached. What do you all think? Its been made in a heritage kind of look. double insulated melamine inner and pine outer. Three enclosures on top of each other. Each independant of the other, but can be seperated from each if need be. Each has thermostat controlled heat, with UV batten on ceilling attached to timer inside the enclosure on the roof out of view.

Top one has an extra vent as this is the only one I'm using at the moment. Pretty simple, just utilised the open door space and made up a screen vent (not stained yet) but is very effective.

Each enclosure measures about 500mm*500mm*1200mm, making the whole thing stand nearly 1.6m high

Cheers
Colby

Thanks Chappy, Im pretty happy with how it turned out.

As for selling them, I have thought about it, But I think it may prove too expensive for the buyer considering the price of others out their. I guess it depends with what you want. Ive tried to make this look rustic / heritage. Its not put together with immaculate edges, and theres holes and marks here and there to give it that look.

All up, the materials including wood / melamine (because its double, ie; melamine box inner with outer pine) / electrics / fittings / lights / vents / stain / glass / etc etc, list goes on..... even the glass tracks - amazing the cost of things these days. All up it cost me to make about $1000 - $1100. There was admittedly a bit of wastage involved due to me making mistakes with some measurements lol, but no much. Qualified electrician was used to do the wiring, but only cost me a couple of slabs.

It also took me about a week on and off to make. So by the time I made one and included my time, price may be up to $1800. This sounds like a lot, and admitedly it is. But b/c of the type of enclosure it is and cost of materials, I dont know how I could do it much cheaper

Anyway, Im happy with the look of it. My next big project is creating 2 -3 enclosures actually inbuilt to a wall in my house. should be interesting

No worries Colby keep up the good work

I must admit it is a pricey adventure regarding the cost of materials, lights and everything else. It all adds up but theres nothing better than looking at the completed work finished

Cheers Paul.

It took about a week working on and off. About three / four full 8 hr days and a couple of short days. I made it in my brothers shed, as Ive moved houses and havnt set up my work area as yet. So it took longer because I was forever moving equipment and saw's and unplugging appliances etc.....

When I get my shed built and hav my stuff in permanent positions and set up the work bench, should be quicker process, as long as you have the materials at hand. Tends to drag on when you keep having to go down to the hardware store becasue u forgot something the last time u were there lol - which happened alot.

Cheers

Just curious peopled, what do you think the enclosure would get if I was to make another and sell it. Remembering it costs me about $1000 give or take $100 to make

Cheers
Colby
