Its a 1mx0.5mx0.5m glass tank sitting on a dark wooden stand with draws. The right hand side has a wooden lid with build in dichoric fittings. The rest of the lid (seperat part) is a wooden surround with wire mesh as the roof. Theres red desert sand over the bottom, and a heat cord underneath it at the right hand side, attatched to a thermostat to heat the sand. That area is covered in fake autumn leaves for cover. Theres a driftwood log in the centre that extends to the whole tank, and a hanging leafy vine on the lefthand side, that my 2 little spotted's love curling up in, and a desert water bowl at the front middle. What do you think? Any comments or suggestions appreciated. I have attatched pics of the spotteds (Cairo-male, Reno female). Hes acting getting hissy and shes drinking. wanna more lemme know!
Thanks,
Celeste

How does the sand go, any issues at all?
Wouldnt mind seeing some more pictures too, the tank one is a little blurry

They do put off a fair bit of heat, i wouldnt put them both (2 of them) on at the same time in summer, way too hot. Ive got a heat cord underneath the sand at the lit up end, so it heats up the sand. They seem to like it.

I have lights for lighting and extra heat but I do run heat mats under the tank to create a warm spot. I use gravel (left over from the fish tank) in the bottom and don't have any problems. The heat mats dry out the poo pretty quickly and I just pick it out. |
