This is a great idea! I have two snakes that won't eat wet mice, they wait until it is dry then eat it, strange fussy snakes.....

I just feed frozen, then put the snakes in warm water

Much easier. How long would the serpents immersion need to be?

Hot water from the kitchen or laundry tap is fine, and they do float at first (like ice cubes do!) but will sink as they thaw (this is how I know they are nearly ready). I just give them a stir a couple of times to rearrange them, and once they are soft leave them for another 5-10 mins to really warm through, and then feed... never had a problem.

I didn't mean to sound as though I was putting your idea (the defrostinator) down though - there are circumstances where it could indeed be useful...

Jamie.

Good idea. Personally I just toss all of mine into a big bucket (without the plastic bags) and give it a swirl after a few minutes....but hey if you want another excuse to eat ice cream - go for it!

Defrostinator2000...delivers what it promises! Great idea! It is good to see that many people put the item directly in warm water as well, I had wondered but never bothered asking if snakes would eat wet rats, guess that's been answered as well.

My worms only eat wet rodents & Quails. As many have said, hydrates at the same time.
