Costs me about $250 to do a 1200w X 1200h X 450d cage out on melemite and perspex, including the electronics.

Hey fuscus, i build my own vivariums as well but i only use glass. A mate of mine had an enclosure with perspex and it went all clouded within 12months. this is why i use glass.

Do you have the same problems with perspex?

Wasn't sure if it may have been caused by the UV light in the tank.

You just have to be careful cleaning it. I've got an enclosure that has been in use since August last year and is still crystal.

On this tread here http://www.aussiepythons.com/index.p...&highlight=250 there are photos of my newer cages with perspex.

Looks good fuscus. what thickness do you use. i normally stick to at least 5mm glass on a large enclosure. 3mm on some of the small enclosures.
