I've been wanting a snake for quite a while now, and i've recently been doing alot of reasearch on them
Since I live in WA I think the only one at my beginer level I should get is the Stimsons, Pilbra Python, now im not too sure still! but yeah (:
I have a 3 foot long tank by about 1 - 2 foot around that, its pretty big, and Stimsons don't seem to grow too large (if it does i'll by a new one in the future ) Its an aquarium, and the lid has broken and is all smashed, so dad he will make a plexi glass one with some venting in it
any way!
1. My questions were -
Where can I get hatchlings from? I found some on this website http://http://www.srsrk.com.au/pages/index.cfm?action=revised_pricelist
but i'm not sure if they are aloud to send them to WA, so i sent them an e mail.
2. With the licance what is a beginer supose to write for the "previouse reptile experiance"?
I know its a big responasabilty but I have done so much reasearch, and mum said she will be happy to help if I ever get into trouble.
3. I've read so many different things you can use for a bedding, i think just good old news paper would be good, but is this okay? I only read it on one website.
4. Can you get the little pink rodents from most petshops, or would I need to get them from special place?
5. Do snakes have eye lids? Just something I have wonderd for a long time! |

try www.pilbarapythons.com they are in WA and have some great animals...

Edit: didnt realise WA didnt allow importation.

My guess (not being WA) would be "none".
I know its a big responasabilty but I have done so much reasearch, and mum said she will be happy to help if I ever get into trouble.

Or get butchers paper - newspaper without the newsprint, which rubs off. The most commonly used substrate would be newspaper I think.
4. Can you get the little pink rodents from most petshops, or would I need to get them from special place?
Someone else answer this one.
5. Do snakes have eye lids? Just something I have wonderd for a long time!
Not quite, they have eye caps, clear scales over their eyes - they therefore can't blink. But the caps protect them from damage. |

also most pet shops sell pinkie mice to full grown rats, but not 100% sure about stores in WA
but in all snakes a fairly easy to keep once you have a good set up up and running

As far as your application for previous experience put none
