It had a piece cut out of the lid with glass in it and pieces on the sides also were cut out with perspex put in it., that way it flexed with the curve of the coffin.
Bit better than using one for a coffee table like we do.
If you ask nicely at your local morgue they will probably sell you a basic one, you just have to seal the wood etc.
