 New Enclosure Design.....yes even pics!
Was pondering TBs 6 foot enclosures and my 'ol 4 footers design and trying to come up with a better temp variant forthe herps.
I tried a divider in the 4' which did assist for a better temperature variation but still not great.
Sooo...I thought I would give the 6 footers a go. I found though the divider in the middle just wasnt trapping enough heat under the globe. So I tried this second half divider at the quarter mark and it works a treat. Great temperature variation across the tank.
I also used pivot hinges instead of frames.......broke one piece of glass whilst experimenting with different hinges(jeez theres some crap on the market!)....but all good now and ended up Aralditing slide bolts to the glass for closing. All good and strong. 6mm glass.
However next time Ive seen a different design which I would like to try...looksfar easier to build. I like easier......
