Hi all,
While the wife is away for a week & after getting annoyed with the clutter of numerous enclosures around the house i decided it was time to do something about it & designed a rack system. Using some ideas of other systems i have seen, this is what i ended up with.
It was surprising quick to build & quite cheap compared to others for sale. It only took the weekend to build, I just need to purchase a few more tubs, add the heatcords & shelves & its all done. It should be satisfy my reptile addiction for a little while . Then it will be time to build another one for the other side of the room
For those that are interested in dimensions.
The whole rack is 2.4M long X 1.8M High X 600mm Deep. it holds 5 X52 Litre, 10 X 30L, 20 X 20L & 10 X 15 L Starmaid tubs. It will have 7 shelves 600 X 350mm at one end for storage etc.
Sorry about the picture quality, the wife has the camera, but you should get some idea of what it looks like.
Cheers

I'm using metal ceiling battens as runners & will use them for the heat cord also.
Cheers

Do you have any close ups of the tub rails. I am interested to see how you did it.
Can you explain better the metal ceiling battens please.
Reasoning, you seemed to have solved a problem I did not
Thanks

I am doing something VERY similar but using shelves for the heat cord- how do you plan to heat the tubs? Looks good BTW.
Pic only one shelf completed, will have sides/back as well: |

Also, what are you using for the smaller verticals (if you don't mind me asking)?

Thanks | I will try to get some more pics tomorrow. Very basic, I have just riveted the battens to the underside of the shelf above. I am not using lids on any of the tubs as I only plan to have terrestrial gex in them. If you wanted to use lids you will need to use some sort of spacer between the battens & the shelves for clearance.

Thanks. I am running more ceiling battens the length of the racks with the heatcords inside them. I will post some pics when complete.
Looking good Dr Nick, maybe if you posted the pics before I started I might have done it the same as yours.LOL. Be sure to post some more pics when you have finished??

No problems with the questions, happy to help. I used 12mm round Alum tube & riveted it to the frame to prevent any sagging.
