Just read on the reptiles australia forum that it won't be out till the end of the month. Is it a quarter yearly magazine now. That'll be nearly 3 and a half months since the last one. Even the reptiles australia website is 6 months behind. When that new scales and tails magazine comes out i might switch to that, i don't understand how a magazine company can function like this and hope to survive(compared to other magazines).

Sad to say but I have almost given up on it, the last issue took me exactly 11 minutes to read from front to back. Not really worth the price in my opinion.

The old editor, Simon watharow has left and a new one has started.
This could be good with someone new running it, or it could be bad. Only time will tell.

When changes happen you just have to be a bit patient. It just might be the best one for a while and worth waiting for.

It may be worth the wait, but a 3 and a half month wait on a mag that comes out every 2 months is a very poor effort. If any effort at all.

Hi all,
there have been a lot of issues getting the current issue completed, not least of which was the old editor leaving and some of the staff being ill (one of the new ones had a case of anaphylaxis you might have heard of).
After the issue which should come out this month the new team will be running the show, and you'll notice differences over the following few editions. Subscribers won't miss out, they'll get everything they've paid for.
We're aiming to continue improving the magazine, to bring the best publication possible to you, the readers
If you have any comments, complaints, feedback of any type or if you'd like to write for us, feel free to contact Reptiles Australia directly (go to www.reptilesaustralia.com.au) or you can PM me.
Cheers

Good to hear that all is well Sdaji. Magazines like this are a very important part of getting our hobby into the open more and having it taken seriously. Reptiles Australia is still very young and needs to be supported as much as possible. I remember the very first Australian Bird keeper magazines when they came out about 20 years ago. They were very thin and didn't seem to contain too much variety. It took several years before it seemed to get things right. Like Sdaji said, if you have an issue with the magazine the most constructive thing to do is email the editor and tell them about it.
Nothing like a little healthy competition either so hopefully we'll start seeing bigger and better things from Reptiles Australia

Healthy competition! I agree, it's a good thing! I'm hoping that it will help convince them to put some of my expensive ideas into action

well said sdaji, gawd some people are quick at jumping off the bandwagon, yes its frustrating waiting sometimes for an issue, but when it arrives its well worth the wait, also not every issue will take everyones fancy, but how boring if it didnt have variety, instead of being negative, hows about people put there money where there mouths are,let the staff know what u like or dont like, put pen to paper, its easy slandering ect,but if u want things to improve, supporting something is the best way to improve things.
sorry for my rant, but i believe its warranted,if there were more peple putting there hands up to write articles ect,and supporting it,would certainly help its production.
just dont be so quick to write things off,and with 2 mags soon to be on the market, sometimes u wont feel like your waiting so long, which to me isnt the end of the world anyways, alot better than no aussie herp mags at all wouldnt u think
