Thanks! the heatmats are fine under the astroturf... have had it setup like that in previous enclosures for years and its all good..... of course i wouldnt want to be using a massive wattage under there but 13 and 21's ive found are fine....

yeah they seem to be.... its funny actually the bottom one is sulking in her hide as she has no more paper to hide under... lol the top one is great hes a good boy and is still out cruising round.... hes usually always visible!

lol, it just goes to show every snake has there own personality, just my advice but maybe you could put something a bit more elavated in your bottom stimmie enclosure, just my advise

Sorry if I was hard to understand.
Great to hear you have no probs with the mats, I often wondered how they would go.
I asked about a globe, as you said the mats were the only heat source.
The enclosure looks pretty well lit up, thats why I was curious.
By the way, I also do like the enclosure colour, heaps better than white.

yeah i might find a better branch at some stage over the weekend.... but they rarely climb since they are a terrestrial species...

ahh i see!!!! well yes the heatmat is the only heat source, but there is a globe in there for light only...
i use those long life globes.... the compact fluro thingys... they are only 10 watts and put out nearly zero heat....
thats what they are!

yeah i saw it on one of those colour charts at bunnings in the paint section and had to have it!
its a wattyl textured 'stone effect' paint called stone blue if anyone wants to know!
