The tank is a custom 1000litre capacity (I think 7ft by 2ft by 2.5 ft)

How big are the turtles? I dont feed mine too often and as such are on par with "wild" growth rates. The only problems could be if the smaller turt is too small in regard to water depth and competing for food. Very young and small turts can drown in deep water (say >200mm).

RE: Re: RE: new turtle tank

hi,
the large male would be about 20 cms to 25cms across his shell, the smaller unsexed one is about 13 to 15 cms across his shell, the pond is about 600 mm deep, i have holes drilled around it to stop it getting any deeper from rain, i have a island built in the middle that they can climb up onto for basking in the sun, made from bricks, for food the pond is full of platies and some goldfish, ( food that didn't get eaten),
i feed them on turtle pellets, frozen turtle dinner and fresh meat, they also have live fish if they can catch them, lol,

cheers,
steve...............

I would say no problems at all with them together at those sizes.

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: new turtle tank

hi peter,
you remembered, lol, he is doing really great, the only hassle was by putting him ourdoors he isn't as friendly as before, but at least he has lots more room to live, i haven't heard from the lady that gave him to me, but i did give her an open invatation to come see him whenever she wanted, next project will be to build him a enclosure so he can have some dirt to play in, lol, or if i can sell my bluey's he can have their pit, lol, and after winter he will have a friend move in, lol,

thanks for your answers and info olive, i'll wait until after winter before putting them together, as the smaller one is used to being a bit warmer, lol,

cheers,
steve..........
ps, anybody want to buy about 30 bluey's so my turtle can have some dirt to play in, lol,
