The agent said she just rang to warn us in case the neighbour took it any further.
Fortunately I have a letter from the owner that allows me to keep an unspecified number of reptiles on the premises.
The claims were vexatatious as I dont free range my animals and a dead reat that is eaten doesnt smaell. Also the closest enclosure to there house is about50 metres while the rats are bred in the garage on the opposite side of the property next to the nieghbours who want me to release greentree snakes and bluetongues in their back yard.
Cant win really.

We have just been refused permission to rent three houses by owners who don't want the reptiles in their houses and the only transport company that freights to Port Hedland refused to transport pythons as they were scared of them! I just wish some people would grow up. Hope every thing settles down for you Peterescue. |

Is it hard to get a rental house with reptiles ?
i have been thinking of moving and would rent before i bought again but i never thought there would be problems having my snakes !
Peterescue Have they complained to the owners or just the real estate ?
Do you get along well with the owners of your house if so maybe they could tell your nieghbors what to do !
womas4me it is a sad thing when you cant keep a snake in the house without someone saying something they would probably let you keep a cat inside and have it urinate everywhere or a dog digging up the yard and not worry i only have "Odin" at the moment but i keep him in the bedroom and i can say there is no smell or mess from him at all when i rent my house out i dont care what animals people have the only resriction will be on cats inside as long as they look after the house and pay on time who cares !

She lives about 2 blocks away from him and yet he looks like he's going to practically fall apart because of it! Unbloodybelievable! Peter, you'll find the morons can't smell dead rats etc, and I can't imagine you toss your collection out in the backyard to freely sun themselves. Unfortunately you have a clear case of IGNORANT STUPIDITY living next door to you. |

| And try telling real estate agents that you don't let your reptiles run around the house freely- they look at you like you're lying. We wouldn't normally be too concerned but there is a housing shortage atm and there are only about 5 rentals available a week and they start at $350 a week. For that sort of money I'd expect expect to be able to keep anything I felt like. And yes, they all allow dogs and cats!
Magpie, it's a shame you have a problem with transport too. If we ever come up with a way of convincing these ignorant people, we'll let you in on the secret. |

| I was called to a house about an "infestation" of geckoes by a very upset woman. Her husband came home for lunch, got me aside and apollogised for wasting my time and told me she goes weak at the sight of snake lollies.
Now that's a phobia |
