yeah he said he had about 6 laceys at home i think. they have improved a lot since we first saw them ricko, we bought our first coastal off them and even though they only had the one snake in there they took over a week to clean the ONE turd in her cage . and she had no water either... . but it seems a lot better now. they have a fair few bhp's in there atm too.

moose its on the street opposite the market, not actually inside. queen street i believe it is.

That's a gorgeous snake Zoe, keep posting photos so we can see it's progression.

Did you think the Pet Store was equipped to sell reptiles? Did they give you Care Sheets or offer advice?

My son aka Shadow has this little Athertons Coastal. - well, that's what we call it. It's developed some clear patterns now, it was fairly uniform in colour before.

Here's a photo from today.

they didnt have any care sheets that i know of but i dont think they're too bad a store to buy from. HOWEVER, she is a bit constipated which seems to be resolving with a proper heat source, and she had a lump in her tummy which i originally thought was a food lump, but she ate 7 days before... . its already a lot smaller just after 2 days, but we just took her to the vet to check it out and he's a little concerned. we're going to feed her tonight and see what happens but we will be letting them know tomorrow that she's been checked out and that there could be a problem .

one interesting thing he also mentioned, when he saw that she was hypo he almost recoiled in horror lol. apparently he has seen a LOT of problems in hypo snakes...mainly skin related...which has ended up being their downfalls . i've never heard anything like this before, but then again i havent done a lot of research on hypomelanistic snakes. has anyone else heard of anything like this?

I purchased 3 Brisbane Carpets exactly like that one. 2 of them are changing colour after 3 months now. One is still light.
I hope that your will stay light, but it is likely that colour will change Zoe.

As a couple of others have said, the juvenile hypo carpets often look really amazing (like yours), but then grow into normal looking carpets. I've never seen an adult carpet that looked vaguely hypomelanistic (but of course that doesn't mean they don't exist). I would love to see pics of it every month or two (or however often you're prepared to post them) over the next few years, and I'm sure I'm not the only one!
Let's hope it grows into a stunner!

I've seen quite a few juvenile hypos but none that end up with next to no black as adults either...

This is about as hypo as i've seen an adult coastal..not much of a looker but not much black at all...the dude isn't me...

Browns: that's the most hypo adult carpet I've seen. It's not without its charm I suppose, but definately not my thing.

I've seen those pics, it's a stunning snake (although not my sort of thing). It has a reasonable amount of black but really different colours. It would be interesting to see what it looks like in a year or three.
