On your license (NSW license) it says:
"9. The licensee shall not dispose of protected fauna within a period of six months from the date of its acquisition. This condition does not apply to fauna bred by the licensee." |

Generally DSE will listen to why you need to dispose of the animal as long as you apply for permission first.
