So you put the click-clack on top of 1/3 of the heat mat ... but how do you regulate the temp?

The snake will self regulate its own heat , only one end will be warm on the bottom , so if it needs heat it will go to that end , if it needs to cool down it will go to the cool end .
You may also want to use a thermostat to control just how hot the mat will get ( i recomend doing so )

How big does the click clack have to be?

I think the two I got are a little tall They are both around 20L - one is 28L.

We plan on getting a spotted python and a water python - both as hatchies or juvis.
I think its called Sytema , from wooliies they are very good tubs , they dont have to be any specific size , but if you think they are to big throw a few extra hides in for them .

I use cords , i use a router and put a groove through a piece of melamine , so it sits flush with the timber .

If you click on the 'Links and Care sheets' button the HerpShop website: http://herpshop.com.au/

then scroll down to "Construction details of a Tiled enclosure with Heat Tape"

Once there scroll down to:
"Building heated hatchling setup using the same tile over heat tape technique"

Click on the pix to get a larger photo to look at.

Here are my MD Juvies in their click clacks.. poor photo i know, and before anyone whinges about their hides being too big - i have smaller boxes inside the larger ones, and they use both depending on temp desires. Swingonthespiral - i'll get some better pics when they've settled in..

i got really confused with this whole thread.
-a CLICK CLACK is more the of a brand name (i think im using the right word?) for the origionals that have 4 WIRE clips on each side.

-most of you in here have been showing TUBS, these are what you get from the $2 shop and the reject shop.

-and last is those holding containers you get from pet shops (the ones with handles and the little plastic door on top) are NOT CLICK CLACKS there exactly like there name states there holding containers and they dont have clips on the side, there a different product altogether.

i just thought id note some of these points as im not having a go at people its just frustrating when im reading through a thread where terms have been used incorrectly.

as a general thing when "click clack" is used it means any kind of plastic container , "systema" "tupperware" ....etc etc , any thing that can be clicked to lock the lid down will do as a container to hold snakes .
The original "click clack" are around $25-$30 each ( i think ) so i don't think to many people bother to buy them .

But really who cares what we call them , they all do the same thing .

Yeah I was under the impression that 'click clack' was just a general term for any small tub or tupperware type container.

Technically speaking you are right though. "Click-Clack" is a brand name.

As Fester said , you are right and sorry if i made it look like i was having a shot .
but i think its easier to just call all containers click clacks , every one gets the same general idea then .
