That's probably a male, large head in comparison to body, but if it's young who knows.

Pink-tongued Skink

I love this species. Hugely under-rated in my opinion.
They're actually a very interesting species.
Real specialists, only eating slugs & snails with a specialized enlarged tooth at the back of the jaw to help crush snail shells. Great residents for the garden.

This specimen is different from the Sydney specimens, which have relatively solid bands, even as adults.
Bands tend to break up in adults, as they do in Blue-tongues. They become increasingly marginal, sometimes appearing as double bands, like this one. But I've never seen one with such distinct double banding though. Very interesting!

In what area was it found :

Looks like an adult male to me.
Like Blue-tongues, the males have bigger, broader heads proportionately and more distinct bands compared to females.

Nice find!

What about the tail? Are you talking about the fact it's slender? Or does something you see make you think it's a female?

i reckon, and i am no expert at all so I don't have to send anyone an invoice for my BS advice, that they would be like other Tilaqua where the female has a narrower arrowhead type head and a long thin tail that tapers from the back legs. The male has a thickness to the tail before it too tapers out and a head that is wider across the jaws. It is easy when you look at a few from a clutch and it was just my guess looking at one.

Keen eyes folks not letting me get away with that 'her' pronoun

Plus i am adding to my guess that it is a yearling and not yet an adult

That is a broad head, females have more slender heads, and pink tongues aren't in the genous Tiliqua anymore. As for the tail, all pink tongues have slender prehensile tails, but buy the looks of how thin that one is I'd say a young male, not a full grown adult.

Give us a break guys, none of you know what sex it is so keep the old wives tales to a minimun.
Some distinctive features of pinktongues, distinctive large head, long thin tail, banding varying from firm solid bands to no markings at all.
