Pinkie to big or not??

This pinkie was born on friday. Just wondering if it would be to big for my hatchling coastal? The other hatchling had started to eat pinkie rats.

it'll be fine, most breeders of coastals don't bother with pinkies at all, they use fuzzies as soon as they've had their first shed.

da pinky is fine... even a little bigger would be OK... it is surprising what they can get down.

A fuzzy rat would be to big for most hatchy carpets.
A hatchy carpet weighs what... about 30g? A fuzzy rat weighs about 20g, far too big.

This one isn't a fuzzy though. I thawed it out and put it in with her, hasn't eaten it yet. The pinkie is a little bit bigger then her head so it should be ok.

Sorry craig.a.c, i wasn't refering to your case, although you might find she will refuse it if it's a fair bit bigger than what she is used to.

RE: Pinkie to big or not??

She hasn't eaten at all yet. She shed for the first ime last night. She isn't showing much interest in the pinkie yet. Might try a pinkie mouse see how it goes.
