Bunnings also sell the RED stuff- about the same price for 10-30KG, labeled Plasterers sand.

I have not seen 'dessert' sand before, does not sound very appetising

I use the washed playsand for my geckos and on the most part it seems fine.
One of my female knobtails does seem to ingest a lot of it, as her faeces usually has the bottom 1/3rd as sand, but of 14 geckos I have on it she's the only one who has been affected and she is otherwise fine and healthy anyway.

I use the Red Desert Sand from the pet shop for my geckos. I like it (as i am sure my geckos do) because when it gets sprayed with water, the top becomes quite crusty and my knob tails love burrowing underneath it. The washed sand doesn't do that.

Also, i bought a bag in the past and when i opened the bag i found it damp and smelt bad, it also had white little crawly things in it. I have used it a few times but didn't have an issue any other time but this one bag.

Simone.
