Hi guys, I have a problem with my stimmie- Every night he spends time vigorously rubbing his nose against the edges of the door of his enclosure. His snout is constantly raw and at constant risk of infection. I have been treating him with betadine and putting foam and coverings over every ruff edge I can find in his enclosure but he continues to rub against the perspex and I'm not sure that his nose is going to heal.
I'm just wondering if there is anyone else out there who has seen this problem. I know it's normal for snakes to try to escape but this seems a little extreme. there is no evidence of it being mites either.

Isn't due for a shed? otherwise not sure some other people might have an idea. May be some photo's of snake and enclosure might help people solve your problem.

Cover the glass / perspex with a towel or tape up newspaper.
Is he hungry?
Yes they will try to escape, Stimmies are houdini's.
He should settle down after a while 'covered over',
Cheers

Stimmies are well known for spending their time trying to escape - especially wild caught ones.
I simply place a folded card over the glass edge and they rub up against the card instead of glass.
In the meantime, maybe put him in a non-transparent container for a month or so to try and stop him rubbing???
