Try ebay for a good cheat enclosure.

Snake Boy you will need heating. I am in Townsville and for a couple of months of the year I still heat. The winter temps and even some summer night time temps (you know when it rains for like a month non stop). Be your own thermostat. I know when i have to wear a jacket to work i still need to heat.

You are better off buying a Click Clack from Woolies (i think the brand is star maid, about $7 i think it has a water melon or an apple on the sticker, they have blue clips) and heating up a fork (if you dont have a solidering iron) to poke air holes through. Order a heat cord from the herp shop www.herpshop.com.au which is around $15 or your heat mats are around $40-$60 i think dont quote me. Especially when you have a childreni they can get through the smallest of spaces and i have not heard anyones snake every escaping from a click clack. Dont want to see another newbie with a *Help! My Snake Got Out!!* thread (no offence to anyone by the way).

Put the heat cord (not necessairly all of the heat cord, experiment with it) under about 1/3 of the click clack which will give him a good gradient (hot end, middle, cool end)....

I use paper towl or just newspaper in click clacks. A small water bowl, big enough for him to soak in if he/she wants.

I would not recommend you use a log just yet... although get him a stick to climb on if he wants to. A small cup of soup cardboard box works well because it is small and your little childreni will feel safe and secure.

Remember not to handle straight away. let him/her settle in and get feeding first. And i know its hard. But it really is for the best.

Please take our advice.

Good luck.

Bingo.....

You dont need the natural substrate (flooring cover)..... just paper or paper towel works best.
