POPPING MACCIES?

I have a pair of maccies that appear to be 'popping' at the mouth.
they have been eating and carring on as normal.
one began to do this a week before the other.
they are only hatchlings.
i have observed little (single) bubbles from the mouth occasionally.

HELP!

RE: POPPING MACCIES?

popping? Can you be more specific and tell us what they are kept in and the temps. It could possibly be a cold, which means you should turn up the heat.

If there appears to be excess mucus then there is a high probability that it has RI. Give us a few more details about your husbandry practices?

RE: POPPING MACCIES?

as in, they open there mouth slighty and let out a little pop, like when you were a kid and made bubbles in your mouth and popped them. they are in a plastic aquarium with the coloured lids, in a heated enclosure to 30 degrees.

RE: POPPING MACCIES?

It can be fatal in snakes, I would get them to a vet for antibiotic treatment

RE: POPPING MACCIES?

I would, Snakes only have one lung and they can't cough up mucus which is why the die from it. Turn the heat up, maybe to 35+ and see how they go but personally I would get them to the vet asap.

RE: POPPING MACCIES?

As bouncer said but around 32 in the whole enclosure, make sure they can't get to a cool spot. Definately sounds like RI. Have you noticed and weizing?

RE: POPPING MACCIES?

I would get them to a vet if you have one near by. If not, heat them up, it helps them fight infections. You should have them at 32 degrees anyway in the warm end.
