trying to work out how much itll cost to run my heat/lights/filters etc over a period of time.
i need to know before i go an buy heaps of setups, i dont want to get my power bill and get any nasty shocks..
i cant work it out, admittedly my brain cell count is a li'l on the low side,
when i first got my li'l360 my power bill doubled, i dont use it as much now, although "gears of war" is about to be released so i might be in trouble |

All you do is look what wattage your heat/light/filter is. It will say on the globe or heater or pump/filter.
Lets say you use a 40watt globe.
Times 40 watts by the number of hours each day you use it.
40watts x 12hours =480watts total usage per day.
1000w total usage =1 unit.
480 watts = 0.48 units
Got you so far?
On your meter you are charged by the unit. Each unit will cost you soo much. The price of each unit will be on you last power bill. If not sure phone your local energy supplier to confirm price.
now just times the power unit cost by the amount of units you use.
Just go around and work out all your power usuage setups and hey presto your costings for power are done.
