Preggers?

I noticed a couple of weeks back that one of my blueys has gotten quite massive, although I don't feed them too much. Wasn't intending to breed them, but I'm assumming she is preggers?

Can someone with bluey breeding experience confirm for me? Also, would other adults harm the bubs if she had them whilst in with other animals?

I don't have expirence in breeding them, but i have seen someone who kept a baby in with the mother and both happened to go for a food item and the mother grabbed the baby by head and ended up mangling the babies jaw and all sorts. But other then that the mother didn't touch the babies so i'm guessing they will be ok aslong as you don't have any live food in with them at the same time?

Looks like you're going to get some bubs out of her Saz
It's best to seperate them as other adult lizards will eat the babies if they're a bit peckish.

Thanks guys!

She is already separated, so will leave her that way until she pops.

What's the gestation period? She is pretty huge, not sure how much further she can stretch. She weighs a ton too.

saz, you can seperate, but i never did and didn't have any trouble with others eating them, but just a warning, the mother can and will also eat them if she is left with them, so as soon as it happens get them out, during breeding season i used to check my pit every morning,

gestation is appox 3 months, most give birth between nov and jan, my latest ever clutch was 14th feb, but the rest have been over by mid jan, the one if feb was bought from vict and was gravid when she arrived, i'm guessing that had something to do with her late birth,

she looks like she won't be very long..............

Here's a full body shot if that helps - covered in calcium powder and gravy from the casserole cat food (sent partner out for catfood, but didn't specify the meatloaf type LOL!)
