Definitely not for handling, like most aussie geckos they are look and don't (well rarely) touch. They will get stressed very quickly if you handle them too much and many are timid- best kept in low traffic areas of the house, and they like it dark and quiet. Relatively simple to care for, but can be quite hard to get hold of unless you know someone, are lucky or go on longish waiting lists.

From experience with my animals, amyae are more calm than asper. All of my amyae have no problems what so ever being handled, mu asper on the other hand are very skittish and do not like being handled.

I'd have to agree there, asper are cranky little so and so's compared to amyae. Mine try and eat me alive if I so much as look a them the wrong way!!
