that's so awesome that she could reckonise it wasn't anyones fault esp the snake even though she was probably beside herself with greif over the sudden loss of her pet. just one more reason cats should be n inside only animal IMO and that people might finally be starting to learn

Yeah awesome, she releases her pet to go and kill stuff knowing a python is likely to eat it
Not killing the snake makes them less of a bad person not a good person, the individual snake would be insignificant next to the number of native animals the cat killed.

yes it was a good thing for sure that she wished no harm to they python. Especially as she's only new to the area (god knows where she came from, possibly somewhere where there ARE no snakes at all)

Good to hear one of our natives getting one back on feral introduced species, better still the mature and balanced view of the cat's owner.

I agree. Its the same as "guns don't kill people, people kill people".

I have two cats, both of whom have never gone outside with out a lead, EVER .
Ok, except the few time they escaped, but they were only outside for a few minutes before I caught them.

Don't blame the cats, blame ignorant cat owners.

Well, hats off to the lady who lost her cat, I really do commend her attitude and well, in my opinion ,that was a good cat.

Ps. I will chop your cat to get back a wild snake, dead or alive Steph

Sorry Steph, I think you have missed the point. Cats are natural born hunters, but they do make great pets. Because of their hunting instinct, cat owners need to be responsible and keep their cats seperated from our vulnerable native wildlife. This is easily achievable by keeping the cat in an outdoor enclosure or keeping it secured inside.

I am a big supporter of the hunting of ALL feral animals that are not farmed. Like John Weigel said, "If it's feral, it's in peril!".

Well my cats are indoor cats and none of them have ever hert any animal they couldnt even catch a fly if they wanted to.
They have never been a menace to anyone let alone any wildlife so why would people want to hert them???
Do they feel the same way about dogs??
Cause my neighbours dogs kill blue togues and birds all the time so i would say dogs are more of a menace then most cats.
