A person told me today while in a shop, they were having dramas with their maccie which hatched in Mid December, now she was told it was feeding when purchesed, she has just started keeping didnt know much about keeping, 4 weeks have passed still not eating, this person rings back the well known Brisbane breeder and there reply is well it was feeding on skink when it was here.....
My question!
Should snake be sold when.......
1) not eating
2)feeding on skinks
3)feeding on pinkies
I would have thought No. 3

Not to mention feeding on skinks, geks etc. they can pick up all sorts of nasty diseases and worms.

Should NOT be sold eating skinks!!!!!! Even if it was started on skinks, it should be held back untill it is on pinkies AND has been wormed, then and only then should it be sold!!!

I would rather use a natural food item of the snakes in the wild (skinks) than to watch a snake die from starvation. But that is just me.

This must almost be a first i think, i agree with Mr Bredli, i can't see why anyone would need to feed a skink to a snake, there is no need for it at all laziness and ignorance is the only reason it happens.

I'll buy hatchlings before they've had their first feed (sometimes before their first shed) because i know i can get them feeding without problems(and also want that challenge).
But if we're talking about fledgling keepers then i agree. It shouldnt be sold to them until it has become an established feeder.

No need to name and shame them, if they now see the errors in their woes and help out the person they sold the snake to.
