I'd thought I'd ask before my snake lays and before cyclone season starts which that is practicly on my door step now, during cyclone season there are loads of blackout's right, How does people go in cyclone regents with incubating eggs??? what should I do incubate or not??
This is a question I am actually in process of getting the stuff to set an incubator up but would like to know what happen's if the power goes off for half the day?

if you want to incubate you should invest in a small generator..

yeah you could do that or see if the snake will take the eggs back and incubate them herself

Bah! Don't get a genset.
If you are really that worried about the blackout times put alot of water bottles into your incubator and use more vermiculite that you normally would. That way there will be alot more stuff in the inc to hold the heat if you lose your power supply. But i had no problems last year, just don't open your incubator during a blackout.

Mate, during cyclone season cooling the eggs down is going to be a bigger issue than heating them.
Half a day is not an issue, but with a decent cyclone power can be off for weeks.
The best thing you can do is choose a room with stable temps to put your incubator in.
