| | | Question on what heat source to use in new cabinet.
Ok, my cabinet is just about ready. I have all the fittings, vents and lighting installed along with a awesome branch for the inside.
My main question is, for the carpets that are going to inhabit the new lair, should i be using a ceramic heat lamp, or a spot heat lamp? Also, a flouro for viewing purposes will be run from morning till sundown.
So, to help me out and get this all done, what will the carpets prefer for their hotspot, a visible basking spot with a spot lamp, or a non visible source of heat from a ceramic lamp? And as it will be run on a thermostat, i myself prefer not to have a bright white light come on at 3am and im sure the snakes wont appreciate it too much either. Or, the other option is to have a red lamp for the hot spot.
Cheers, Alan.

I always have, they're great I'd go with the fluoro on the timer, and a ceramic on thermostat.

| Just saw that - the heat from the ceramic will be enough; they'll know it's there. Same deal with IR spots.

I use ceramics although i do not keep snakes. I find ceramics last alot longer and heat more evenly.
