But they are not the easiest to breed. Although as you are in Sydney you could set up an outdoor enclosure for breeding season which may help. Quote:

They are known as brilliant escape artists as well. You can visit www.frogs.org.au/community/ for a variety of care sheet links. Quote:

He missed the meat and had my whole finger in his mouth. Lucky they don't have teeth but boy he hung on - lol, it was so cute. We also have bells tree frogs - they require higher humidity than the GTFs - they have a fogger in with the bells for maintaining the humidity and heat - both enclosures have UV lights. Hope that helps a bit.

Friday of the month, they sell cheap homeless frogs at the meeting. Go with the Common Green tree frog, easy to look after due to their variable tolerances to temps and humidity. Rainforest Sp's can be a bit tricky, keeping the temps low and the humidity high, Northern Sp's will need higher temps. Common GTF's only need a warm room (around 25), as they are naturally found in Sydney. I have never bothered with UV and havn't had any problems keeping and breeding frogs. GTF's live for a very long time, I had one that I caught as an adult when I was a kid, it died a few year ago, I had it for 17 years. Breeding frogs is a whole different ball game, depending on the Sp's can be hard, costly, and time consuming. | | |
