Hey all! Got a quote for an enclosure today and it seems like a resonable figure. It would be 5x3x3 foot, Two basking shelves, 3 globe fittings , fluro fitting and sliding doors top and bottom made out of cherry wood melamine for $920 with a $50 discount for a microclimate with magic eye so about $1000 all up fully wired. I was planning to put my bredli in when he is big enough. Hes only 8 months old and is a way off getting a new tank just yet but I was curious and it seemed like a good price.
Hubby isnt keen to encourage my new love of reptiles and I think Ill be buying my enclosures in the future!
(HE thinks THAT will stop me!!!!) |

at the moment I am experiencing problems getting my nesting box warm enough for my frillie to lay eggs in just in case I am away fro a day or two when she does it. I guess that is another problem with tall enclosures. Great gradient from top to bottom but the bottom is too cold for tropical eggs.

hi, occalot,i have an adult bredli in a 1200 high x 900 wide x 450 deep enclosure,it has a fake floor with a heat mat in one corner of bottom floor, and all i have in the top half is a fluro, the heat mat is on about 32c -36c,the top half is about 22c-26c and get as low as 12c(in winter). My snake seems to thrive in this set up,he just moves form top to bottom between each gradient. hope this gives you some useful info. cheers Daniel |

sorry, i made it myself out of an old wardrobe, cost about $250 to set up,$1000 sounds like a lot of $$$ to spend on an enclosure,in saying that i think i have seen the ones you are talking about and they are pretty impressive.Hey ,if i had the cash i would prob buy one!! |

If it is a pro made enclosure the price is very good. Sort of in the industry(building/cabinet makers) by default, and we budget for between $80 and $100 per hour for joinery work, so if the enclosure is being built by any company with decent outgoings, then $1000 leaves very little cream.
