Reptile Insurance

Hi Folks I got in touch with Warwick Remington Insurance in Vic, who have Aviary Insurance, but at this time they do not have any Reptile Insurance. Here's a copy of an email I received. I replied and said that there are a lot of people trying to get Reptile Insurance these days. Cheers Cheryl

"Hi Cheryl

Unfortunately I cannot help with reptile insurance as our insurance scheme only caters for aviary birds.

Some years ago we did put an insurance scheme together for reptiles but very little business was written so the Insurer cancelled it after 2 years.

Regards

Warwick Remington"

ask them if they could read this site, and others, and explain that not many knew about the insurance plan and they might run it again! tell them they'll get good business

I remember there being some serious attempts to get a reptile insurance policy up a few years ago. I registered my interest and then heard nothing more about it. If this is the one Warwick is referring to, then I'd suggest they need to improve their marketing. Of course, its also worth keeping in mind that having a reptile insurance policy is one thing, but having a policy that is attractive enough for people to sign up to is another.

hi all
i wrote this on the other thread on reptile insurance , thought it mite be relevant!

[ok i got a question, dont get me wrong im all for the insuring of reptile's,
but whats would stop sum shifty ******* from the insurence company gaining access to ur personal details and organising a robbery?
i mean there is always sum1 with the rite access codes, or knowledgble enough to get them?
im just playing devils advocate, but there is always sum1 out there shifty enough to do it.
i met a fella 1nce in a an undisclosed location , who used to work for a major insurence company, he was a computer nerd with a gambling problem, anyway to cut a long story short he siphoned over $3million dollars in small portions out of everybodys accounts into his own, over a 3mnths period to feed his gambling habit at star city!!
dont mean to put the fear into everybody , just meant to be a coutionery tale!
O'Dog
p.s he got busted and did 6 yrs]

Here's the reply from Warwick Remington. What do people think? Would they get more than 100 policies??

"Hi Cheryl

I am afraid for any Insurer to consider starting a scheme for reptiles I think they would want as a minimum of 100 policies and from my past experience with reptile insurance as well as my current experience with aviary bird insurance you would not get that many people interested.

Regards

Warwick

Slither, no pet insurance covers reptiles. I'm really not sure what the problem is, it is possible to get it overseas.

Give us his email address, 200 of us can send an email enquiring about reptile insurance. Too easy...

Hi Cheryl,
It'd be worth asking what he proposes the insurance policy might cover and how much it would cost. It'd be much easier to get people interested with these details.
