| | | Reptile One viv and heat matt
Hi Just wonderin about the reptile one terrariums like this one. it has a plastic bottom with glass on the inside on the bottom, will a heat cord or matt work under these?
I dont see why not because click clacks are plastic are plastic and they dont melt, but, the bottom layer of plastic and glass may require a higher watt and that may melt the plastic??
what do ppl think, cheers

Can't help with the heat matt question - but from previous threads on this item - We've basically just established not to put young snakes in them - as the gaps in the door are easier exits... so they're not as good as click clacks in that respect if thats what your asking for ultimately....

Heat mat will not work under that while the plastic is still in place. You will have to cut it out - I did the same with an aqua one aquarium. The difference between that and a click cvlack is the layer of insulating foam between the plastic and the glass. Also the combined thickness.

Heat mats work if you put it inside the enclosure but when glass constantly expands and contracts in a confined area it will crack. Thats what happened with the one I bought. Best to use a heat lamp for that type of enclosure. A bit of newspaper folded up and pushed between the glass doors will stop the hatchie from getting out.
Hope this helps.
