You have to keep up with the times if you want to be in the running.

Photoshop doesn't have to be about making a photo from scratch. It can be used to remove a fiddly blade of grass, a mossie hanging about or to brighten or enrich an image.

Sure, it isn't 'real', but people buy stuff that looks good. If you want to 'make it' in an industry, you have to use the industry techniques.

There were other techniques used by photographers in the past that would be considered the Photoshop of their time, albeit, not as sophisticated as the Photoshop of today. Airbrushing, lens fogging, coloured lenses, paper choices and development times in the lab after.

'Keeping it real' is a wonderful ideal, but it isn't marketable if you want to make a living.

Still, keep it real and at least your family could make a fortune after you die.

aw c'mon people, at least enjoy the beautiful exotics

'shopped or not, the original images still require some skill to take - as my mum says, you can't polish a turd.

I don't know if any of you voted or are interested, but the diving bell frog won the photo comp. It was the one I voted for so I think it is heaps cool. I know the guy who won it and he is a top bloke, as well as a great photographer. he won a trip to Tanzania to do exo terra's photography.

I saw that... I thought there were much better photos, personally. I guess it's all subjective though.
