Just bought a fabulous bank of 4x2x2 tanks. I want to put sand in these for my subadult beardies. Where is the best place to buy large quantities of Reptile sand (not calci-sand) just plain silica based children's play sand
Any help would be much appreciated
Cheers |

and its cheaper to buy white washed sand from bunnings, but u still might have to sift for impurities

Thanks for that....I was wondering what happens to the kids when you put red sand in........
I'm off to Bunnings then....have to go there anyway to get a few extra bits for the tanks |

You can also go to a brickie's place (whatever ya call it lol) and they have mountains of the stuff in all diff colours and types. I just bought mine in bags from Bunnings like baz said tho cos it was easier |

I was wet, so I spred it out to dry. When I put it in the tank it seemed to give off some dodgy fumes, so I replaced it with some reptile sand I got frieghted from Animal Attraction in melb. It still worked out heaps cheaper than getting it from a local pet store, and at least I know whats in it (or rather not in it...).
Bunnings had heaps of diff. types of sand so its possible that I just got the wrong type, what type of sand is it? (they had stuff like brickies sand, etc.) and the person at bunnings couldn't tell me anything... (I was trying to find somthing close to reptile sand so its prob. the die in the sand that is making it smell...)
BTW. I'd miss my little ones "Red" socks... |

Did you factor the price of petrol into the price or were you on a junket? Quote: |
