You also get to see the animal in the flesh and assess health etc...
I think there is 100% more risk involved with buying interstate etc where the only contact is internet or telephone - and yet this is done REGULARLY.

As aslan said you can generally get a good feel of a breeder/seller at an expo and what they are like. You can also shop around a bit and see whats there and choose the animal you like.

Licence usually takes between one and two weeks...
