reptile show purchase??

Hi I just wanna know how people feel about buying from the reptile shows??eg. the one coming up in Castle hills??

It is no different from buying from a breeder you find online - you generally deal direct with the breeder and as such should be able to get a 'feel' for them as well as see a variety of their animals...

You also get to see the animal in the flesh and assess health etc...

I think there is 100% more risk involved with buying interstate etc where the only contact is internet or telephone - and yet this is done REGULARLY.

I wouldn't hesitate to buy an animal at an expo. As aslan said you can generally get a good feel of a breeder/seller at an expo and what they are like. You can also shop around a bit and see whats there and choose the animal you like.

I was a bit weird with the idea of buying from a place where I didn't actually get to see the snake first...

also do you know how long it takes to get reptile licence?? roughly?

Leezel - That is a major benefit of the shows, you get to pick your individual snake...

Licence usually takes between one and two weeks...

What do you mean you don't get to see the snake first, you get to see dozens of snakes and choose the one you want...

i wouldnt hesitate to purchase from shows or expos at all.

i will most likely be buying from the castle hill expo.
almost bought some ackies from mac herps, lucky i didn't have an enclosure for them
