Reptiles & Amphibians of Australia book by Harold G. Cogger

Hi everyone,

I was having a look around on Ebay, and found this book;

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/HAROLD-G-COGG...QQcmdZViewItem

I thought that $300 was a bit much for a book....

until I looked on Amazon.com;

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_gw...s+of+Australia

its $998 USD!!!!

Can someone tell me why this book is so expensive?

thanks,
Lockie

It's considered the bible and it is no longer in print. That is also the latest edition.

It's only a bible if you actually do any herping and need the key for tricksy species like small skinks and blind snakes. Most keepers that have them use them as expensive dust gathering devices.
