Reptiles Stolen !

I am posting this on behalf of 'Rocky Reptiles' of WA who have recently had a break in and have had snakes stolen along with other stuff.

This is a quick bulletin to inform you that early this morning(29-06-04 )some scum of the earth, pulled off our front doors and stole Scar our beautiful shop python, 3 Stimsons pythons, a SW Spiny Tailed Gecko a custom built enclosure all decked out, 2 small glass vivariums and accessories.
We are absolutely appalled that people have to stoop so low and we are most upset about SCAR. He is a 5 foot, male SW Carpet Python, who was as gentle as a pussy cat. We have attached a picture of SCAR with Karen, unfortunately you cant see his scars, he has one on the left side of his head, one about 1/3 down, 2 scars that almost join together further down and looks like a large tear, and one more on the left side of his tail above the vent.
Keep your eyes and ears open and fingers crossed and hopefully we may get these reptiles back.
We just hope that his new owner is the first to get bitten by SCAR.
If anyone hears anything at all regarding this, could they please contact Crimestoppers on 1800 330 000.
A reward is offered for the return of these reptiles and we hope that the people who did steal them know what they are doing as we are extremely concerned that they might not.
We will be in touch soon with further updates.
Warmest regards
The Team

There is no word to describe those people NC.
I'm so sorry for your losses.
Scar may be easily recognised so we will of course keep a lookout.

You sometimes wonder why ppl don't like letting you or others in to their homes to see their collections.
Now you know, it's a sad state of affairs when you have to have infra red security and dogs out front and back.
Ppl like this deserve a harsher penalty than those with exotics.
We can only hope that they get caught.

Will keep my eyes and ears open.

thats so horrible

some people just see them as money makers, and either dont realise or dont care that they are still someones beloved pet. if someone stole my snakes i would be devastated...and not because of what breeding potential they have but because they are my slithery babies

i hope they get busted and all their snakes get taken from them and given to Rocky Reptiles

these are the guys that were featured in the new edition of reptiles australia right?

Yes, zoe, well spotted. We sell most of our stock to them and only recently travelled to Perth and had a look at their setup- it's great. Have never seen such clean enclosures and reps being in appropriate sized cages. We spoke to Rocky's today and they were saying they have been overwhelmed by the support they have recieved from the herp community. It's great that there's a positive spin on something so horrible.

If someone stole my pets and I found out who they were, they would suffer the same fate as the exotics that were handed in. That I would guarantee.

If you know enough ppl, you might be lucky, however the chances would be slim. Doesn't change the fact if you caught them though.

sorry to hear this!! i just hope that whoever took them knows how to care for them, being stolen is bad enough, but to live in conditions that are not suited to you and dieing a horrible death is worse!!

in one of the american reptile mags (reptiles usa) it talked about responsible keeping of reptiles. there was a small peice on about stolen animals. it said that if a rare reptile was stolen (bob clarks albino ball pythons for example) it would be like stealing a rare and loved painting. they could admire it as much as they want but they could not show the artistic community or in this case the reptile community.
