ridgetail setups

hey i'm hust trying to figure out the logistics of getting an akkie. it would be an adult. pics would be great of setups i have a 3ft x 600mm perspex tank i could retro mod for it, but minimal space in my house cos it is already a mingery. would love to see what others have especialy for an adult of pair.

use the search function theres heaps of pics and good advice on keeping ackies

yeah but i didn't find any decent setup picks and info on size of setup was limited, i can read and do searches... what i'm chasing is pics and info on what people really set their hot spot to, not what poeple have heard that they should set it to... so any real experiance would bell be good.

Hi Renegade,

I keep my hotspot for ackies between 60-75 degrees, that is very hot but the ackies only use it for a few seconds on the hottest spot. They mostly lay on the side of the hotspot.

my set up is very much the same as insectovors,my stack has skinnyer spaces though so they can wedge in there,size of my set up is 5 x2x2,i think u want at least a 4 x2x2 for an adult pair,my hot spot temps are also the same65 to 75 on the top of the stack,nice looking ridgeys insectovor

hey renagade, i am also setting up a tank for an ackie i am hoping to purchase in the next week or so, the tank i have built to house the ackie is 120cm x 60cm x 60cm, i started a thread early this week asking for people to post pics of there ackie enclosures and i got a few great responses and pics aswell, also herptrader left some good advice for everyone on keeping them and aslo some great pics. it should still be on the first page of the general herps section but if not just try to search show us your accie enclosures ( i think lol)

Hopefully getting in the future... Accies, more Nephrurus levis levis, Nephrurus Amyae, Nephrurus Asper... yep i think that will do for now lol

hey thanks alot insectavor that is the sort of setup ill be trying to achive. those stacks look good. will be really similar to my african cichlid tank without the water if you get what i mean... is it 3ft by?? i think i will have to get rid of one of my lounges to fit it... oh well such is the addiction.
