River reappears....

Well as some of you know... my little baby coastal River got lost on tuesday.. My son ( was sposed to be holding him while watching tv.. well.. as typical kids go.. he forgot he was holding River who had climbed onto the chair Axel was sitting on.. and when Axel came out from the lounge room.. my hubby asked him if he had put River back in his enclosure??
Well the look on Axels face was total shock.. "OH i forgot about River".. was his reply..

We searched high and low for River.. and i even cut up my recliner chair looking for him.. but no sign of River anywhere.. so we put towels under all the door gaps altho i thought he mite have already dissapeared under one of them.. i put a rat-scented container in the middle of the lounge room floor.. and put flour around to see if there was any sign of him.. but no luck, no even a track in the flour.. boohoo.. i was getting more and more frantic wif each passing day.. the longer he is missing the less chance of finding him.. i gathered..

Well on friday afternoon.. i got a phone call from the school my kids attend..
They asked me if i please come and pick up my youngest son Chad and his friend!!!
It seems when Chad went out to his port in the arvie to get his homework folder, there was River in his port at school..
So blessed that River was still in his port.. as my kids leave their ports unzipped on the port-racks everyday, and we are so glad that River didnt escape from chads port and get into another kids port.. no doubt the parents of any other kid wood have killed him..

The teacher got a huge shock when Chad came back to the classroom wif a tiny brown snake in his hands.. she immediately thought the worst.. all the while chad is telling her .."this is River the snake we lost on Tuesday".. chads port was zipped up securely and sent to the office ( the office girl isnt scared of snakes) wif River inside.. so i raced to the school.. doin well over the speed limit.. cos they had said that they wanted River outta there asap..

So... amazing story huh..? we were being so careful to not let River get out of the house wif the towels under the doors etc.. and it seems he was actually carried out of the house in Chads port.. too uncanny..
We are just so thrilled to have him home..
River is now back in his enclosure and safe and sound.. and he didnt even get squashed by all Chads books or lunchbox.. wow so lucky..
So thats my good news story.. Hope you enjoy...

YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY for River!! I'm soooooo happy that he was found safe n sound!! It could have turned out sooo much worse!!
I know the feeling all too well of losing a beloved snake!! I was just fortunate that my little girl was only missing (once I even realised she was gone) for a couple of hours!!
And YES I tore the house apart as well.... it's unfortunate about the recliner chair but hey it would have been worth it had you found him!!

Anyway I'm sooo very happy for you sweetie and ****big hug******** for you and River!!!
See you next weekend!!

Cheers,
Mell

Cool story

I left the lid off my thickies house the other night and went to change their water
bugga - forgot about the lid - came back did a quick count of the thickies - one missing - sheer panic
looked everwhere - no sign of it
Two nights later while feeding them counted again - missing one was there
Duh in my panic I hadnt counted properly -
Moral of the story Never leave the lid off even for one second
Sandee

It's means school bag Aslan. It's what kids call backpacks. At least they did when I was younger.
