Question Rocks in enclosure?

I've just been to the beach and picked up some smooth stones, like large river stones, to put in a childreni enclosure. My question is do I need to treat these in any way before putting them with the snake?

Nope. But to be safe you could put them in boiling water for a while.

snake_boy - softer sedimentary rocks will do that as they weather much more easily and were muds etc before becoming rock.
harder igneous/metamorphic rocks wont do this - I use basalt rocks in some of my enclosures which also have a very small grain size/less porous and therefore easier to clean, plus the black absorbs heat very well.

it doesnt really matter - they just stay "dirty" but wouldnt be "unclean", you are just weathering the rock more when you wash it

yep as long as you gave it a good scrub after collecting it. Just make sure you place it so it can't fall/move and squash your animal
