I use newspaper for the snake and sand for my beardies. The problem with snad is I am worried that my beardies will digest some when they feed. I heard it can be no good. It gives a great look but if it can damage our herps, then I will remove it straight away?

In the wild they would come across sand all the time........why would it be any different in a cage in your house?

Good point SW. And a lot of people use sand and a lot of pet shops use it for dragons. It hasn't done any harm to them yet so I think I will continue to use it for a while.

Redline, just use newspaper. Its the cheapest and most practical substrate and doesnt pose any risks to your herps, unlike all the other substrates.
