You would struggle to break 10mm glass with a sledge hammer. I have large olives housed in cages with 4mm glass and have had many of them strike the glass and I can tell you the snake comes away second best.
You must really like the bloke to hand over a pair of olives for a single scrubby as well. |

Not saying they are all like that, I have kept many CB ones, that I have grown up and they have been well behaved, but the image of the stitches in the arm remains with me.
I agree though, 10mm glass is strong stuff, it must of had a crack already in it.
You won't be sorry to have got your scrubby though, they are intelligent snakes, and very alert and interesting species to work with, Just Respect them!

One thing Walker has taught me is that all lifes problems can be solved by kicking someone in the head.

A pair of 8 foot Olives for just one 9 ft male Scrub, someone saw you coming thats for sure. One Olive for one Scrub would be a fair swap, but two Olives. Hoho.
And as Splitmore said 10 ml glass is awlfully strong. Are you sure it wasn,t a little thinner. I only use 4 ml glass and have never had a snake break through it yet.
As for Scrubs, I know I will never keep them again. Massive heads with teeth to match, as well us unpredicable tempers. If you crab them by the head to stop biting, then they try to drown you from the other end. And, boy , doesn,t stink.
I had a 21footer nearly rip my knee off in 1970. Luckerly I was wearing jeans at the time. And there was my famous bite when my 16ft boy bit me on my chest just as I was leaving to give a talk at the AHS meeting in Sydney . You could have heard a pin drop when I stood in front of the members with my very blooded shirt. Splitmore should remember that night. I put off most the members from ever keeping a Scrub ever again after they saw the gapping holes in my chest. What fond memeries |

they were NOT my olives they were a friends and the male has had bellyrot from before my mate had him and he only has 1 hemipene as it was badly infected and was removed. i only wrote what the guy told me. he says it was 10 ml glass and im not no glass expert so i couldn't tell on any of his other cages he may have been pulling my chain but all i know is that it is a BIG snake and i got the poo scared out of me. i have a hatchling pair of scrubs and after today i dont know if i will have one that big i think i would sell at 10 foot. they are pretty good mates so they dont make each other pay a million bucks for things. just telling everyone what happened and what i know they may have a side deal but i wouldn't think so.
