Just wondering how do you go about sexing a 10 month old stimson.
Is is possible to keep two of the opp sex together in an enclosure ?  |

Its not about how old it is but how big it is, snake can be very hard to sex even as adults. Sexing small animals can be harmful to your snake, probing can damage so can trying to pop the hemipenes, it is much easier to (guess) the sex of snake when you have a number of them together, by compairing tail length, you can determin the sex but this is not always that easy either. Maybe wait until the snake is mature and sexual differance have developed eg, larger spers, hemipene bolge and shoter tail length in males and smaller spers, no hemipene bolges and longer tails in females....OR if you live near some one that can do it see if they can help.

Age isn't important, size is. By the time the snake is about 2ft long it is easy to probe, if they've been feeding well they should be at least that big by now, so should be ready. Keeping them together is possible, but perhaps best avoided if you can.

hph, its easy to sex pythons at any age. You just have to have the right size probe. Try to find an experienced breeder in your area, and I am sure they will sex it for you.

It is not always easy to find experiance breeder wiling to visit you and sex the animals.
I am looking for somebody to help me with it. So far I find nobody.

Like I also said (get someone to help you)...in the post above Bobs...thanks for deffending Bob....like you needed to....ether I know what Bob said ...just pointing out that if hph doesnt feel comfortable with sexing the snake, than dont both untill he can get someone to help him.....this is why I offered to help him if he lives in Brisbane...again I am sure Bob is greatful for you defence as I must have attacked him in some????? fasion...

When I got shown probing I had a number of snakes. The experenced herper showed me the technique on the first two then let me sex the third.
You can also practise on road kill, just carefully make sure the animal is dead
