That looks like scale rot buddy. i treated mine with dabbing the area once every day for 14 days first with betadine which the snake is not going to love you for as it stings them a bit and then using a cotton tip to dab Silvazine cream on it. It is a schedule 4 ointment so you won't be able to buy it over the counter, i'm pretty sure its a prescribed ointment that the vet usually insists on seeing the animal first. I wouldn't leave it too much longer to take it to the vet though. Good luck!!!!!
Simone.

It may not be scale rot. I have seen many snakes loose colour after shedding, people have posted pics on this site of it happen.

Unless you experience it Thor1 your not to know. I let mine go alot more than yours ( that's if yours is scale rot ) before i took it to a vet and they diagnosed it as scale rot. It's easy to fix mate, keep us updated on how you go.

Just another possibility. Does your cage have a vent or a hole large enough to allow just that part of it's nose to get through? Because it's even on both sides, it may be that the snake has been pushing it's snout thru and damaging the scales. You see injuries like this very often on hatchies where the tub has holes which are not big enough for the snake to escape, but big enough to push their noses through, and it causes damage just like that. This too comes up as pale scar tissue after a shed, but is not obvious beforehand sometimes because the rubbed, or scabby, part is a similar colur to the normal skin. If this is the case, then what you see there is good clean scar tissue and you shouldn't need the vet's attention.
If the snake is a boy, he's probably a bit restless and prowly at the moment too, which would make him more inclined to check all possible exits from the cage.
Let's know what you reckon.
Jamie.

Sorry, just re-read - it's a girl... but she may be feeling a bit frisky at this time of the year too!
